About Richelieu

Tucked away in the Chamberí neighborhood, this spot quietly draws a diverse crowd—locals who appreciate a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The small plates and tapas-style bites, often served alongside drinks without needing to be ordered, create a casual grazing experience that suits both solo visitors and groups catching up over a leisurely lunch or evening drinks. Such a friendly bar. Lovely little bites with our drinks too. We shall visit again!

This is worth a pilgrimage! My go to in Madrid for lunch, drinks and meeting friends. Impeccable and friendly service, the waiters are top notch. A large amount of snacks served with each order.Excellent menu of the day at lunchtime with a choice of 5 starters and 5 mains.

You are served a number of tapas, that you haven't ordered, and are complimentary. However, when you ask for the bill, the price of drinks "includes" the tapas...

i used to walk past this bar every day and the patrons always seemed to be having a good time. then i became a customer and was not disappointed. the drinks may not be the cheapest but the service is attentive and the included tapas are very good. in a barrio such as this many of the customers are elderly, some even famous, but they are also wise and in many cases have been coming here for years. i hope this bar continues for many more years.

An excellent stop while out for a walk. Enough free taps to make a meal.

After a long, hot day in Madrid we passed this spot and spontaneously decided to let the day end here. We sat down outside, had the waiters immediate attention although the place was crowded mostly with Spanish people rather than tourists. We ordered wine and calamares and got multiple little sharing plates in addition (for free!). What shall I say, the wine was good, the calamari fresh and tasty, we even got some sweets before we left and paid little money. Definitely worth visiting again.
